Unique and beautiful
Meet the artist
Grace Lam is the artist in residence at Grace's Gallery & Gifts.
Grace is a self-taught artist with Down Syndrome, hearing impairment and visual impairment. She specialises in digital abstract art, bringing her own unique spin to landscapes, flora, and fauna.
Grace's work has been featured in group exhibitions in the South Australian Living Artists Festival and in multiple solo exhibitions.
Her achievements have been recognised nationally. She was a 7 News SA young achiever award finalist in 2021 and in the following year, the Sydney Opera House began stocking Grace's products.
When Grace is not hard at work on her latest piece, she enjoys going to the gym and practicing a number of other creative hobbies, such as playing the piano, dancing, and performing arts.
Don't know where to start? Grace's favourite design is the falcon and her favourite product lines are journals and earrings, although you can't go wrong with a classic card!
The vision
Grace believes in fostering an accessible environment where everyone is equal. Her shop is designed to be accessible, reflecting this goal. She wants to show the world what she can do and help people understand she is not limited by her disabilities. She believes people with disabilities should be given opportunities to achieve their dreams. As Grace herself said,
"It doesn't matter if you have a disability or not, what matters is great artworks. There is no need to segregate, disabled people are no different from anyone else in the entire world. Don't diss our abilities."
Grace takes great pride in her business and strives to create and stock only the highest quality products. Grace's products are all designed and made locally in Australia.
Grace wants to support other local creators and businesses. Her shop accepts consignments from local artist and makers. All are welcome to apply.
We have rebranded!
Grace's Gallery & Gifts was formerly known as Grace's Handmade Cards. The business underwent a rebrand in 2023 when she opened her own shop in Glenelg, a popular tourist location in Adelaide.
The shop is located at Holdfast Walk 109/7 Moseley Square, Glenelg SA.
Hope to see you there!
